Hi, I’m Denise Kennedy, a Governor at Hammond Academy since September 2014. I am the deputy head as well as having been the acting head of school.  Previously I have worked within two primary schools in Hertfordshire as part of the Senior Leadership team and on the governing bodies.  I am a specialist leader in education (SLE), specialising in assessment. I look forward to working with all stakeholders of Hammond Academy.

I am Mhairi Emery, Chair of Governors. I have been on the Governing board since 2012 as a parent governor, appointed vice chair in 2014 and became chair in 2015. I have previously worked on the HR sub committee and am the link for Safeguarding / SEND. This year I have taken on a new link role for Research and development.  I am proud to work alongside all the staff at Hammond who are very enthusiastic and dedicated to helping the school deliver and improve opportunities for all the children. I look forward to working more closely with the staff in my Chair role and also members of the Aspire Trust to ensure the school continue to provide a safe, nurturing environment for all the pupils to enjoy and achieve.

I became a Governor in 2008 when my son started at Hammond and was elected vice chair in September 2013. I became a director to help support the school and work together with the senior leadership team to ensure all pupils have an environment where they can excel and aspire.

I became chair of the learning committee in September 2013 which monitors pupil progress and I have attended a number of training courses to help me in this role. I have also joined the finance committee which has been a steep learning curve.

I live in Hemel and work in the oil industry as an IT training and communications manager.

Hi, I’m Jeffery Quaye, a Governor at Hammond Academy since January 2014. Additionally, I am an OFSTED inspector for both Primary and Secondary provisions. I joined the Governing Body mainly to support the work of the academy leadership to continuously secure outstanding outcomes for pupils in my local community.

As a Vice Principal of large secondary school, I am particularly excited to be able to bring to this role my expertise in Mathematics education, leadership and management, assessment, curriculum development, school improvement work and data management.

I look forward to working with all stakeholders of Hammond Academy.

Lily Lipman

I began my role as parent governor at Hammond Academy and Trustee in the Spring of 2015. I have since stepped down as Trustee due to work commitments, but remain passionate about my role on the Local Governing Board. I enjoy working together with the excellent governing and staff body at Hammond Academy and I am particularly interested in maintaining not only an outstanding environment for our children to grow and learn, but to create an outstanding environment for the school staff to work and develop in. My link governor area is Early Years, which continues to impress and inspire me each time I am in the school, thanks to the dedication of the team delivering the provision. I am completely thrilled to be involved with such a special organisation, and look forward to the continual development of an already exceptional academy.
