Herts Quality Standards for Early Years

Hertfordshire Quality Standards for Early YearsHQS

As part of our on-going self-assessment and commitment to high quality education the school and now the Academy have taken part in the Hertfordshire Quality Standards Award for our early Years provision. We were delighted to be originally accredited in 2003 and applied for and were successful in gaining the award in 2006, 2011, 2014 and again in 2015.

The Hertfordshire Assessors evaluate every aspect of provision of the youngest children in the school to ensure that every child starts their educational journey with the best support and provision available.

Investors in People

The school was originally accredited with the Investors in People Award in 2000 and has been reaccredited every three years since that date. In March 2013 we attained the Investors in People Silver Award and in July 2014 we were delighted to be accredited with the very prestigius Gold Award.

Investors in People Gold Standardiip-gold

In June 2014 Hammond Academy welcomed two external representatives from the prestigious national organisation for Investors in People to assess whether our school met the standards for Investors in People Gold Award over a two day period.

Mrs Sandra Vassie our Well Being Leader and Ms Yvonne Mountain our HR Manager took the lead for the school, preparing a comprehensive evidence base for the assessors and managed the two day event with flair and their usual charming personalities. The assessors complimented these two ladies throughout their stay with us.

I am delighted to announce that Hammond did meet the requirements of the assessment and is now a nationally accredited Investors in People Gold Award winner. This places Hammond once again in the top 1% of schools nationally and in the top 3% of British companies.

This is an outstanding achievement and all staff and directors of the Academy are to be warmly congratulated for their dedication to our school and their undoubted outstanding work.

Investors in People is designed to evaluate the opportunities and career developments open to every member of school staff regardless of status or position. It is a rigorous assessment whereby every member of school staff can evaluate the work of the school and the part they play in the success of the school.
